The Sanford Mustang boys basketball team went into the CHSAA State Championship as the #1 seed in 2A. After defeating Ridgway and Center in the regionals the Mustangs went to the state tournament in Ft. Collins feeling good. Sanford lost however to #9 Limon in the Great 8 dropping them into the consolation bracket. Limon made it to the Championship game. Sanford went on to defeat #13 Plateau Valley and #6 Byers to take the Consolation Championship!
