Alamosa, CO – With the assistance of the US Marshals Service and the Sante Fe County Sheriff’s Office, Chavez was arrested in Sante Fe, NM. The vehicle has been recovered and Alamosa PD Detectives will work with the 12th Judicial District Attorney to have Chavez extradited back to Colorado to face charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Robbery and Auto Theft.
The Alamosa Police Department sends a special thank you to the US Marshals for their immediate assistance in taking this dangerous fugitive into custody. We requested the assistance of the US Marshals earlier this morning and within hours, this dangerous fugitive was in custody. The skills and abilities of the US Marshals to find and apprehend fugitives is commendable and we will continue to use all of our resources at the local, state and federal levels to pursue these criminals who are committing violent acts in our community.
